WHAT BECOMES OF AN INSTRUMENT THAT EMBODIES THE
EXPRESSION OF MUSIC WHEN IT FALLS INTO THE HANDS
OF A VISUAL ARTIST?
WHAT IS OUR DESTINY?
ARE WE ABLE TO INFLUENCE IT?
WHAT PATH IS THE RIGHT ONE – AND WHY?
These are thoughts that have been on Moritz Wirth’s mind early on and led him to launch “Art on Strings.” A project for which he invites upcoming as well as renowned artists to contemplate the question about our destiny. He provides string instruments, created by Wirth Violins, as a central means of expression, to each of the chosen artists. Thus making a strong statement that there may not be just one path.
HIS PASSION FOR ART HAS REMAINED AND MOTIVATED
HIM TO CREATE
"ART ON STRINGS".
WHO IS MORITZ WIRTH?
Born in 1999 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Moritz Wirth was not only very active and successful in sports but also grew up being very interested in music and art. Moritz was surrounded by string instruments such as violins and cellos, since his family runs a highly reputable violin manufactoring company near Nuremberg, Germany. Moritz might have been predestined for a different path, however, due to his early athletic success he chose to pursue a professional career as an ice hockey player with “Adler Mannheim“, one of the elite ice hockey teams in Europe. Currently Moritz is playing for the Düsseldorfer EG.
AN IDEA THAT HAS BECOME
REALITY.
THE LAUNCH OF
ART ON STRINGS ...
The project has been brought to life and the first artists are excited to create masterpieces. Among others Manuel Diaz (Madrid), Perkys (Madrid), Anton Fuchs (Cologne), Stephano Garofalo (Mannheim) and Claudia Keupen (Palma, Mallorca) all use the string instruments as a medium to express their creativity and vision in very unique ways.
